Hanging Basket & Planter Blog We will also be starting our very own Hanging Basket blog soon. Sharing ideas like the one below.. Reflective planting can be done easily and to great effect .....
Reflective planting is a really useful design idea - for impact group 2-5 planters in close proximity -more if space allows. This will really get your neighbors talking. The photo above is of pansy's and chrysanthemums planted in Angel Moss in an English Styled Planter - pretty, isn't it ?! What's more exciting is that these planters were planted only two days before this photo was taken - side-planting is the trick to getting fuller baskets faster. Show us you're nuts and send us your photos... We also want to see what other "Garden Squirrels" have been up to and want to encourage you to send us your photos, share your ideas - trials and what works and what doesn't... this way we can all have better looking better preforming hanging baskets, hanging planters, garden planters and window boxes - making the world a nicer place one planter at a time. This photo comes all the way from New Zealand and was taken last summer - what a great looking window box! In our Planter Recipe section we aim to share the recipe of what products and plants were used so you can create a window box like this if you want to - nothing like sharing information We will be set up to handle receiving photos real soon - so dig out what ever you have and get ready to send them to us and to share your success. Questions & Answers We will also be taking and answering questions as best we can..
Answer - Its all about the watering. Before selecting your plants - ask yourself Q Can you water every day ? - if yes - then you can grow almost anything. Remember to water early in the morning or later in the evening as the sun can easily burn wet foliage and flowers. Q Can you water every other day ? - if yes - then opt to grow something hardy and choose a more a shady spot (morning sun only) for your planter(s) - there are plenty of these see our shady plant list and recipes coming soon. Q Can you only manage watering once or twice a week ? - if this is you - then opt again for a shady spot (morning sun only) for your planter(s) and go for drought tolerant plants - there are plenty of them. We will soon be adding a list of recommended drought tolerant plant and planting recipes. Once you know what watering schedule you can realistically stick to then, and only then, start looking for the plants that will love you.
